Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Sport has opened a tender for the early works of King Salman International Stadium in Riyadh, marking an initial step toward building one of the Kingdom's largest sporting venues. The tender was issued on 11 October 2026, with bids to be submitted by 19 November 2026 through the government procurement platform, Etimad.
The tender covers enabling works, site preparation, and initial construction activities. No contract value or exact price has been publicly stated at this stage.
The stadium is planned next to King Abdulaziz Park and is designed to seat approximately 92,000 spectators across a site of about 660,000 square metres. Completion is targeted for 2029.
What's planned
the venue will include a royal suite, hospitality suites, and seating for VIPs and dignitaries. It is also set to feature training fields, fan zones, a sports hall, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, an athletics track, and outdoor courts.
Once complete, the stadium is intended to serve as the base for the Saudi national football team and to host the final of the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
For Riyadh residents, the project signals a major addition to the city's sporting and entertainment landscape in the coming years. All official tender procedures and documents are being handled through Etimad. As the stadium is not yet operating, there are no public ticket prices, visiting hours, or visitor services available at this time.
