King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah is operating with some delays and cancellations as of 28 October 2026. Travellers heading to the airport are advised to confirm their specific flight status directly with the airline before leaving home.

If a flight is cancelled, passengers may either accept an alternative flight or cancel the booking and receive a full refund, including any paid seat selection, baggage, and other reservation fees. Where the airline is responsible, cancellation compensation is set at 50% of the remaining ticket value when notice is given 60 to 14 days before departure, 75% when notice is given between 14 days and 24 hours before departure, and 150% when notice is given within 24 hours of departure.

Rights in case of delay

For delays, passengers whose flight is held up for more than 2 hours may request to cancel and receive a fee-free refund. If the delay exceeds 5 hours, the flight may be treated as cancelled, and the passenger can claim the applicable cancellation rights.

Delay compensation is 50 SDR for a total delay of 3 hours and 150 SDR for a total delay exceeding 6 hours.

To resolve any issue, contact the airline through its official app, website, call centre, or the customer-service desk at the airport. If a complaint remains unresolved, it can be escalated to the General Authority of Civil Aviation.

Knowing these rights helps residents and visitors in Jeddah plan ahead, avoid unnecessary trips to the airport during disruptions, and claim the refunds or compensation they are entitled to.
