The Ministry of Sports deployed 6,348 male and female volunteers to support community services during this year's Hajj season, as part of wider efforts to enrich the experience of pilgrims.

the volunteers delivered more than 160 services through 78 dedicated volunteer opportunities. These services benefited more than 247,000 people over the course of the season.

The volunteering effort was supervised by 14 field coordinators, while the total hours contributed by volunteers exceeded 31,000 hours — a measure of the scale of the community support provided throughout the pilgrimage.

In an initiative aimed at inclusion, the ministry also enabled 40 athletes with disabilities and special needs to perform Hajj, offering tailored support to help them carry out the rituals.

Why it matters

Large-scale volunteer programs have become a central part of the services offered to pilgrims each year, easing crowd flows and providing on-the-ground assistance. For residents and expats across the Kingdom, initiatives like these highlight the growing role of organized volunteering in supporting national events and reflect continued efforts to make the Hajj experience smoother and more accessible for all.
