King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh resumed limited operations on 25 October 2026, with a phased return of domestic and national-carrier international flights, Saudi Living has learned.

Under the current arrangement, Terminal 1 is designated for domestic flights, while Terminal 2 handles international flights operated by Saudi national carriers. Saudia and flynas have resumed selected services from the airport.

Operations remain limited for now. Not all international airlines or routes have resumed, and schedules may change as the airport gradually expands its activity.

What travellers should know

Passengers are advised to confirm their flight status and the validity of their booking directly with their airline before heading to the airport. Because the resumption is partial, flight availability can vary from day to day.

This matters for residents and expats across Riyadh who rely on the airport for domestic travel and trips abroad. Checking ahead can help avoid unnecessary journeys to the terminal and reduce the risk of disruption.

No government fee, airport-use fee, visa fee, or permit requirement was specified in connection with this operational resumption, and no new procedure was announced on Absher, Muqeem, Qiwa, Najiz, Nafath, or Tawakkalna. Travellers should rely on their airline for the most up-to-date flight information.
