Remat Al-Riyadh has signed its first contract for integrated alternative-mobility services, paving the way for Riyadh's first-phase e-scooter and e-bike network. The agreement was concluded with International Modern Industries Company to build and operate the service.
The initial network covers about 22 kilometers along Olaya Street and Prince Abdulaziz bin Musaed bin Jalawi Street. The planned fleet includes roughly 1,000 vehicles, mainly e-scooters and e-bikes, supported by designated parking locations and integration with Riyadh's public transport system.
the base fare starts at SAR 0.40 to unlock a vehicle, plus SAR 1.00 excluding VAT. The fare may be revised during the contract term by agreement with the investor. The first-phase performance-based contract runs for three years and requires 22 central parking hubs across the covered area.
Why it matters
The project adds a flexible, short-distance travel option that connects riders to existing public transport, supporting easier movement across busy commercial streets in the capital. For residents and visitors, it offers a convenient way to cover "last-mile" trips without relying on a car.
No official launch date, booking application, payment channel, operating hours, rider eligibility rules, or final VAT-inclusive tariff has been announced yet. Saudi Living will share further details as the network moves toward operation.
