A total of 163 BMW S 1000 RR motorcycles have been recalled in Saudi Arabia over a defect in the ignition lock that may cause the engine to shut off unexpectedly while riding. The recall covers model years 2019 through 2025.

the fault in the ignition-lock mechanism poses a safety risk, as a sudden engine cut-off while on the road could endanger the rider and others. Owners of these motorcycles are urged to act promptly to have the issue checked and repaired.

How owners can check their motorcycle

Owners can verify whether their motorcycle is affected by entering its VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) through the Saudi Defective Product Recall Center at Recalls.sa. If the motorcycle is included in the recall, owners should arrange for the necessary repair.

To book a repair, owners should contact the authorized BMW dealer, Mohammed Yousef Naghi Company, on 8001238000. The recall repairs are carried out free of charge.

Recalls like this are part of ongoing consumer-safety efforts in the Kingdom, helping to ensure that vehicles on Saudi roads meet safety standards. Riders of the affected models are encouraged to check their VIN and schedule a service appointment as soon as possible to stay safe.
