More than 6,300 volunteers from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Sports delivered community services to Hajj pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj season, providing over 160 services through 78 volunteer opportunities.
The initiatives reached more than 247,000 people and logged over 31,000 volunteer hours. A total of 6,348 volunteers took part, with 14 field coordinators supervising the activities on the ground. Among those supported were 40 athletes with disabilities and special needs, who were assisted in performing Hajj.
How to take part
Participation in volunteer opportunities is free of charge, with no fee or fixed validity period attached to an application. Residents and citizens interested in joining can apply through the National Volunteer Portal.
The typical process involves creating or accessing an account, reviewing the requirements and tasks of the chosen opportunity, submitting a joining request, and then awaiting approval and confirmation.
The figure of 78 opportunities reflects the 2026 Hajj season specifically and does not represent a permanent number of available roles, which varies over time. For the community, the effort highlights the growing role of organized volunteering in supporting pilgrims and residents alike, offering a direct way for people across the Kingdom to contribute to large-scale public service.
