Several international airlines have extended the cancellation of flights serving Riyadh and Dammam, along with other Saudi cities, leaving affected passengers needing to review their bookings and travel options.

Etihad Airways has extended cancellations between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah through 5 November 2026, with services to Riyadh and Dammam expected to resume on 8 November 2026. flydubai has extended cancellations to Riyadh, Dammam, and Abha through 29 October 2026, while Oman's low-cost carrier has suspended Riyadh and Dammam flights through 31 October 2026.

Air India and Air India Express have suspended services to Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam through 7 November 2026. Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended Dhaka–Riyadh flights through 31 October 2026 and halted Dammam flights for three days.

For travellers on الخطوط السعودية, passengers flying to or from Riyadh or Dammam can change their flights without an additional fee.

Your passenger rights

Passengers are entitled to specific protections. For an international flight cancelled with at least 14 days' notice, the passenger may claim a refund of the unused ticket portion plus compensation equal to 100% of the affected sector's value. The same compensation applies to a domestic cancellation notified at least seven days before departure.

If a cancellation happens between 24 and four hours before departure and no alternative within six hours is offered, the passenger is entitled to a refund plus compensation equal to 100% of the affected sector's value. Affected travellers are advised to confirm their flight status directly with their airline before heading to the airport.
