Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy carried out 14,335 regulatory inspections during September 2026, identifying 723 violations across the petroleum, petrochemical and gas distribution sectors,
The violations covered activities involving petroleum and petrochemical materials, dry-gas distribution, and the distribution of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for residential and commercial use. Among the most common breaches were conducting petroleum or petrochemical activities without the required ministry licenses, as well as selling LPG cylinders at retail without a valid license.
The inspections form part of ongoing oversight to ensure operators comply with licensing rules and safety standards. For residents and businesses, licensed distribution of gas cylinders and petroleum products is a key safeguard, helping reduce risks linked to unregulated sales and ensuring products reach the public through approved channels.
How to Report a Violation
The ministry encourages the public to report suspected violations through several channels. Reports can be submitted via the Beneficiary Service Center on 1914, through the Taqa app, or through توكلنا.
The ministry's 20 regulatory branches operate around the clock to receive and handle reports, allowing residents and businesses to flag concerns at any time. No specific fines, penalties or validity periods were detailed in the September figures.
