The Ministry of Health is urging parents across Saudi Arabia to complete the required school fitness screening for their children before first-grade enrollment for the upcoming academic year. The screening is carried out at primary healthcare centers through family medicine clinics.

Parents can book an appointment through the Sehhaty application by following these steps: log in to Sehhaty, open Appointments, select Book an Appointment, choose a primary healthcare center, select Family Medicine, then pick a suitable date and time and confirm. The guardian must accompany the student to the appointment.

Required documents include the student's national ID or residence permit, along with the original vaccination certificate. The screening covers the student's medical and family history, verification of vaccinations, a clinical examination, and measurements of height, weight and body mass index (BMI). It also includes checks of vision, hearing, speech, as well as dental and oral health.

Why it matters

The results of the screening help determine the appropriate educational pathway for each student and may lead to a referral for follow-up care when needed. Completing the check early ensures a smooth enrollment process and helps families address any health needs before the school year begins.

The screening is provided through the Ministry of Health's primary healthcare centers. Parents are encouraged to book their appointments in good time to avoid any delay in the enrollment process.
