The King Salman Science Oasis and Savvy Games Group have concluded the Next Gen Games Camp in Riyadh, a summer program that introduced young participants aged 10 to 17 to the fundamentals of game design and development. The camp ran from July 26 to 30, 2026, at the King Salman Science Oasis on King Abdullah Road in the Al Raed District.
The program spanned 20 instructional hours, with daily sessions held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Participants were divided into two tracks: a junior track for ages 10 to 13 and a senior track for ages 14 to 17. The registration fee was SAR 1,700.
Through hands-on activities, the camp focused on teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving, giving young people practical exposure to how games are designed and built. No previous game-design experience was required to join, though a parent or guardian's approval was needed for all participants.
Why it matters
The camp reflects growing opportunities in the Kingdom for young people to build creative and technical skills in the fast-expanding gaming sector. Registration for the camp was handled through the King Salman Science Oasis official website. For inquiries about future programs, families can contact 0114830404 or 0550630404.
