Nearly six in ten Saudi adults are now meeting internationally recommended levels of physical activity, The figures cover residents aged 18 and above across the Kingdom.
The data shows that 59.1% of Saudi adults met the target of at least 150 minutes of physical activity The share was notably higher among men, at 66.5%, compared with 43.1% among women.
The results were drawn from self-reported responses in the 2025 National Health Survey, combined with population estimates for Saudi Arabia. They mark a slight improvement on the previous year, when 58.5% of adults reported meeting the same weekly target.
Why it matters
The 150-minute weekly benchmark is widely used as a baseline for maintaining good health, helping to lower the risk of heart disease, diabetes and other chronic conditions. Steady growth in the number of adults reaching this level points to gradual shifts in daily habits and greater access to sports and recreation facilities across the Kingdom.
The gap between men and women remains significant, highlighting an area where community programmes, walking tracks, gyms and fitness initiatives could encourage wider participation. For residents in Riyadh, Jeddah and other cities, the expanding network of parks, cycling paths and sports venues continues to make it easier to build regular movement into everyday life.
