The number of producing factories in Saudi Arabia's industrial cities reached 4,938 in 2025, spread across 36 industrial cities nationwide. The figure marks an 18.9% increase compared with 2024, reflecting continued momentum in the Kingdom's manufacturing sector.

The growth points to rising investor confidence in the industrial sector and a steady expansion of production facilities serving both local and export markets. A larger base of operating factories typically translates into more job opportunities and greater demand for suppliers and support services across the surrounding communities.

Industrial cities offer investors serviced land and facilities with fees that vary by city, type of activity, location, and plot area. Land allocation fees may be paid monthly over 24 months or settled as a lump sum, with payments stopping once production begins at the site.

Setting up within an industrial city generally requires a valid commercial registration, a technical and financial feasibility study, detailed project information, and environmental documentation where applicable.

For residents and expatriates working in or around these areas, the expansion signals a broadening industrial economy that can support employment, local businesses, and the Kingdom's wider goal of strengthening domestic manufacturing.
