Travelers across the Kingdom faced disruption this week as several major airports continued to operate with delays and cancellations. As of October 14, 2026, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam were running with some delays and cancellations, while operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh were suspended through October 17, 2026.

In response, SAUDIA activated an ATC Dynamic Waiver allowing passengers free rebooking or cancellation for flights to or from Riyadh through October 31, 2026. The airline said affected cancellations and rescheduling were reflected in its booking systems through the end of October 2026.

For a qualifying SAUDIA cancellation, the unused ticket value is refundable without fees. Additional compensation may apply depending on how much notice was given and which flight coupon was affected.

The disruption matters for the many residents and visitors who rely on these hubs for domestic and international travel, business, and family trips. With Riyadh's main airport offline until mid-October and knock-on effects possible elsewhere, passengers are advised to plan extra time and confirm arrangements before heading to the airport.

Before traveling, check your flight status directly through the operating airline and the relevant airport's official flight-status service. Passengers holding Riyadh bookings with SAUDIA should review their options under the waiver to rebook or cancel without penalty within the stated window.
