Remat Al-Riyadh has signed its first contract for integrated alternative-mobility services in the capital, marking a step toward expanding sustainable transport options for residents. The agreement was signed with International Modern Industries Company on 28 October 2026.

The contract covers the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the first phase of an alternative-mobility network in Riyadh. The planned network extends roughly 22 kilometres along Olaya Street and Prince Abdulaziz bin Musaed bin Jalawi Street.

the network will feature approximately 1,000 electric scooters and electric bicycles. Vehicles will operate from designated parking locations and connect directly with Riyadh's public-transport network, offering residents a flexible option for short trips and first- and last-mile journeys.

Why it matters for the community

For residents and expats across Riyadh, the project adds a new, low-emission way to move around busy districts and to link up with existing public-transport routes. By tying the scooters and bicycles to designated parking spots and the wider transit system, the initiative aims to make short urban trips easier and reduce reliance on cars.

Further operational details — including the launch date, any booking app, registration steps, rental fees in SAR, payment methods, operating hours, age requirements, and usage rules — have not yet been announced. Saudi Living will share updates as more information becomes available.
