The 2026 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships, which were set to take place in Riyadh from 3 to 7 November 2026, will not go ahead. The cancellation removes one of the city's planned international cycling events from next year's sports calendar.

The championships were due to feature three disciplines: Trials and both the BMX Freestyle Park and Flatland categories. These events bring together the world's top riders to compete in technical, urban-style courses that draw strong crowds and younger audiences.

Because the 2026 titles will not be contested, the 2025 UCI world champions will retain their titles. In practical terms, this means no new world champions will be crowned in these disciplines for the planned 2026 edition.

No details have been announced regarding a replacement venue, a new date, or any refund process for tickets or related arrangements. Riders, fans, and visitors who had been planning around the November dates will need to await further updates on the event's status.

For the local community, the championships had represented an opportunity to see elite urban cycling in the capital and to support the growing calendar of international sporting events hosted in the Kingdom. Saudi Living will share any confirmed updates as they become available.
