Assets managed by Saudi investment funds climbed to around SAR1.001 trillion at the end of the second quarter of 2026, crossing the one-trillion-riyal mark for the first time. The total covers both public and private funds and represents a year-on-year increase of about 28.2%.

Private funds led the expansion, with their assets reaching roughly SAR756.1 billion, a rise of 31.4% compared with the same period a year earlier. The strong growth in this segment underlines rising appetite among investors for a wider range of investment products.

The number of operating investment funds also grew significantly, reaching 2,249 by the end of the quarter, up 29.6% year on year. The steady rise in fund numbers points to deepening activity across the Saudi asset-management sector.

Why it matters

The milestone reflects the continued maturing of the Kingdom's capital markets and the broadening of options available to savers and investors. A larger and more diverse fund industry can offer residents more ways to grow their savings and gives companies additional channels to raise capital.

For the community in Riyadh, Jeddah and across the Kingdom, the figures signal a financial sector that is expanding in scale and depth, in line with wider economic diversification goals. No fees, applications or procedures are tied to this statistical update — it is a snapshot of the sector's overall performance.
