Saudi scholarship student Rakan Alnasser has launched a new sports initiative called Drs. Paces in partnership with Loughborough Basketball in the United Kingdom, aimed at developing Saudi basketball talent and broadening its international exposure.
Under the partnership, Saudi student-athletes can join Loughborough Basketball's development programme as practice players. Participants gain access to intensive training, professional coaching, and an established university basketball environment, all while continuing their academic studies.
The initiative is designed to nurture emerging Saudi players, increase their exposure to international competition, and help transfer British sporting expertise back to Saudi Arabia. The collaboration also extends beyond the court: Loughborough Basketball players will take part in Drs. Paces running-club activities, while Drs. Paces will receive branding visibility through the club's post-game scorecards.
For Saudi families and the wider sports community, the partnership reflects a growing path for young talent to combine education abroad with high-level athletic development. By placing student-athletes inside a competitive university programme, the initiative offers hands-on experience that can later benefit the domestic game.
No application steps, fees, validity period, or confirmed local venue details have been reported at this stage.
