Saudi Arabia's benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) eased on 20 September 2026, closing down about 0.3% — roughly 28 points — at 10,750 points, as trading activity stayed muted and most Gulf bourses ended the day lower.
The index finished at 10,749.51 points, a daily change of about -0.26%. Total market turnover reached around SAR 2.6 billion, with traded volume of about 148.5 million shares.
The move fits a broadly subdued mood across regional markets in recent sessions. TASI ended flat at around 10,780 points on 16 September, after slipping about 0.9% to near 10,782 points on 15 September. In earlier trading on 12 July, the index had edged up 0.1% to about 10,819 points, while on 21 September it was around 10,679–10,691 points, down roughly 0.55–0.65%.
What it means for investors
For residents and retail investors, day-to-day fluctuations of this size are routine and reflect regional sentiment rather than any change in market rules. No new retail investor fees, commission revisions, or regulatory charges tied to this move have been reported.
Trading on the Saudi Exchange continues under the standard framework: sessions run Sunday to Thursday, typically from 10:00 to 15:00 Saudi time, in Saudi riyals, with a minimum price tick of 0.01 SAR and a T+2 settlement cycle for equities. Typical retail transaction commission remains around 0.155%.
Orders are placed through licensed brokers and bank trading channels via the Saudi Exchange's official digital services, while the Capital Market Authority (CMA) handles licensing, disclosures, and investor protection. Government portals such as أبشر, مقيم and ناجز are not used for placing or settling stock trades.
