Al-Baha Education has launched the third phase of its Swimming Literacy Project, aimed at teaching 300 male and female students the basics of swimming and essential water-safety practices across two training centers in the region.
The program began with trainer and teacher workshops held on September 16 and 17, 2026, followed by theoretical sessions that ran from September 28 to 30. Practical training is held twice a week and continues through October 28, 2026.
The project focuses on equipping young participants with fundamental swimming techniques while reinforcing safe behavior in and around water. Combining classroom instruction with hands-on practice, the initiative is designed to build both confidence and competence in the water.
Why It Matters
Programs like this play an important role in reducing water-related risks and giving students a valuable life skill. By reaching 300 students in this phase, the initiative expands access to swimming education for young people in Al-Baha and supports a wider culture of water safety in the community.
The combination of trained instructors, structured theory, and repeated practical sessions over several weeks is intended to ensure participants gain lasting skills rather than one-off exposure.
