Al Nassr Sign Samu Costa from Mallorca

Al Nassr have completed the signing of Portuguese midfielder Samu Costa from Spanish side Mallorca in August 2026, adding fresh energy to the club's midfield ahead of its Saudi Pro League campaign.

The transfer fee was reported at around €22 million, while other figures placed the total package value at up to €42 million once wages are included. No fee in Saudi Riyal was made available.

Following the move, Costa was officially listed among Al Nassr's midfielders and went on to feature in the club's 2026–27 Saudi Pro League match records, signalling his integration into the squad.

Why it matters

The arrival of an established European midfielder reflects the continued ambition of Saudi Pro League clubs to attract international talent. For fans in Riyadh and across the Kingdom, the signing strengthens Al Nassr's options in the middle of the pitch and adds to the growing profile of the domestic competition.

Costa's addition is expected to bring depth and physical presence to the midfield, giving the coaching staff greater flexibility as the season unfolds.
