Saudi Sports Infrastructure to Top $22B by 2030

Saudi Arabia's sports infrastructure sector is projected to exceed US$22 billion in market value by 2030, equivalent to roughly SAR82.5 billion at the fixed exchange rate. The figure is a market estimate rather than a government-set budget or confirmed public spending allocation.

The projection reflects a wave of stadium and facility development taking shape across several cities. Central to the push is the Kingdom's 2034 FIFA World Cup plan, which includes 15 stadiums across five cities — 11 newly built venues and four upgraded sports cities.

Key projects across the Kingdom

In the capital, Sports Boulevard is planned to run approximately 135 km and feature more than 50 sports facilities. King Fahd Sports City Stadium is undergoing modernization and is planned to hold more than 70,000 spectators, while Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya is targeted for completion in 2029 with capacity for up to 46,000.

In Jeddah, Central Jeddah Stadium is planned to seat more than 46,000 spectators with completion targeted for the end of 2027, alongside King Abdullah Sports City, which exceeds 62,000 seats. In the Eastern Province, Aramco Stadium in Al Khobar is planned for around 47,000 spectators and intended for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, while Dammam Sports City carries an announced investment of up to SAR1 billion.

For residents and expats, the expansion points to more venues for matches, events and everyday recreation in the years ahead, as well as broader economic activity tied to construction, tourism and hospitality around these sites. It is worth noting that no confirmed 2026 government fee, admission price or official application procedure applies to the US$22 billion projection, which remains a market estimate.
