Saudi Sports Sector Set to Reach SAR 84bn by 2030

Saudi Arabia's sports sector is on track for significant expansion, with its value projected to climb to around SAR 84 billion (about US$22.4 billion) by 2030, The sector is valued at roughly SAR 32 billion today, pointing to more than a doubling in size over the coming years.

A key driver is spending on sports facilities. Investment in developing and renovating venues is estimated at approximately US$2.7 billion — around SAR 10.1 billion — through 2028. This covers new and upgraded sites intended to serve both professional sport and everyday community activity.

Riyadh's Sports Boulevard

Among the flagship projects shaping this growth is Riyadh's Sports Boulevard, which stretches more than 135 km from Wadi Hanifa to Wadi Al-Sulai along Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road. The project combines pedestrian paths, cycling routes, horse-riding trails, sports facilities, cultural venues, and green spaces.

For residents across Riyadh, projects like these are set to widen access to walking, cycling, and outdoor exercise, supporting healthier daily routines and more active community life. The broader growth of the sector also signals expanding opportunities in sport, recreation, and related services.

It is worth noting that no single official 2026 government fee schedule applies across all Saudi sports infrastructure projects. Details such as admission or booking fees, operating hours, and validity periods are issued separately by the relevant developer, municipality, sports authority, or venue operator for each specific project or facility.
