Saudi Arabia is continuing to grow its community sports programmes as part of the Quality of Life Program under Saudi Vision 2030, with new figures showing rising participation across the Kingdom. The Ministry of Sport and related bodies are working to expand sports participation, improve facilities, develop talent, and encourage community activities.
At the heart of grassroots participation is the Saudi Sports for All Federation, which operates the Sports for All app to support sports groups and community activities. During the reported programme period, more than 650 sports groups were launched through the app, bringing together over 22,000 participants.
Development is also reaching public spaces, with investment in parks, stadium surroundings, walking areas, and community sports facilities. Reported municipal outcomes include 39 contracts for public-park development and operation, 392 temporary contracts for sports activities in parks, and 41 contracts for sports events on municipal land. More than 100 public parks were modernised under the Sports Neighborhoods Initiative.
Nationwide fitness is also promoted through the Team Saudi Challenge, which encourages residents to stay active and take part in community physical activity.
For residents and expats in cities such as the Riyadh and Jeddah, these initiatives mean more accessible places to exercise, more organised sports groups to join, and a growing culture of everyday physical activity. The expansion reflects a broader push to make sport a regular part of community life across the Kingdom.
