Saudi Arabia's plan to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup includes a total of 15 stadiums spread across five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Khobar, Abha, and NEOM. The program proposes 11 newly built venues alongside the redevelopment of four existing stadiums.

Riyadh takes the largest share, with eight proposed venues. Among them is King Salman International Stadium, with a planned capacity above 92,000, which is intended to host both the opening match and the final. The capital's lineup also includes South Riyadh Stadium (above 47,000) and New Murabba Stadium (above 46,000), while King Fahd Sports City Stadium is set for redevelopment to lift its capacity beyond 70,000.

In Qiddiya, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium is planned with a capacity above 45,000, with completion reported as targeted for 2029. In Jeddah, the Jeddah Central Development Stadium (above 46,000) is reported to be targeted for completion by the end of 2027, while King Abdullah Sports City Stadium is proposed for redevelopment to above 58,000. Other venues include Aramco Stadium in Al-Khobar (above 46,000) and a redeveloped King Khalid University Stadium in Abha (above 45,000).

Why it matters

For residents and visitors, the stadium program signals a major expansion of sports and entertainment infrastructure in the years ahead, with new districts and transport links expected to grow around the venues. It forms part of the broader development push tied to رؤية السعودية 2030.

Recent reporting on the plan has been inconsistent: one account described 11 new stadiums, while another pointed to a revised plan of 10 venues, including five new builds and five renovations. No confirmed ticket prices, sale schedules, or admission details have been published for the tournament yet. Saudi Living will share verified updates as they become available.
