The Saudi Cabinet approved the reconstitution of the board of directors of the National Water Company on 27 October 2026, in a decision focused on corporate governance rather than customer-facing services.

Under the reconstituted board, Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli serves as chairman. The membership brings together representatives of several government bodies alongside private-sector members, reflecting a mix of public oversight and commercial expertise.

The board includes representatives of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture; the Ministry of Finance; the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing; the Public Investment Fund; and private-sector members. The National Water Company is a Saudi joint-stock company wholly owned by the state through the Public Investment Fund.

What it means for residents

The decision concerns the company's leadership and governance structure. It does not, on its own, change water tariffs, connection fees, billing rules, or any customer procedures. No new fee, application process, validity period, or customer-service change was announced alongside the move.

For households and businesses across the Kingdom, water services continue as usual. Changes to a company's board typically aim to strengthen oversight and strategic direction over the medium term, and any future developments affecting customers would be communicated separately through official channels.
