A joint venture between China's Fangda Group and Saudi Arabia's IKK Group has won a contract worth SAR 1.15 billion, equivalent to approximately US$306 million, to deliver the curtain-wall façades for a major stadium in Qiddiya City, west of Riyadh.
The newly formed company, IKK Fangda JV Company, will handle the design, supply, and installation of the façades at Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium. The scope covers the main stadium, the museum, and a number of ancillary buildings. Under the ownership structure, Fangda's Shihui International Holdings holds 51% of the joint venture, while IKK's Saudi subsidiary holds 49%.
The agreement was signed with Uptown Stadium Construction JV, a partnership between FCC Construcción and Nesma & Partners. The stated execution period for the works is 863 days.
Why it matters
The stadium is one of the landmark sports venues taking shape in Qiddiya City, the large entertainment and sports destination rising west of Riyadh. Contracts of this scale bring additional construction activity, specialized engineering work, and jobs to the capital region, while adding to the growing roster of world-class facilities planned for residents and visitors.
For the community, the project signals continued momentum in Riyadh's development pipeline, with new venues expected to expand options for sports, culture, and leisure in the years ahead.
