Saudi Civil Defense issued temporary warnings of a “potential danger” in Jeddah and Yanbu on 24 October 2026, urging residents in both cities to take precautionary measures before the alerts were lifted a short time later.
During the warning period, residents were instructed to move to the nearest safe place, preferably indoors and away from windows. Authorities also asked people to avoid gatherings and to refrain from filming so that emergency teams could carry out their work without obstruction.
The alerts were lifted shortly afterward once officials confirmed that the danger had passed, and conditions in both cities returned to normal.
Civil Defense reminded the public that the emergency number 998 remains available around the clock for reporting incidents or requesting assistance. Residents are advised to rely only on official alerts and to follow instructions promptly whenever a warning is issued.
Such precautionary alerts are part of the authorities' efforts to protect lives and ensure public safety in Saudi cities. Responding quickly and calmly to these notifications helps keep communities safe and allows emergency services to operate effectively.
