Getting Around Diriyah: Transport & Parking Guide

Diriyah has quickly become one of the most popular destinations in the Riyadh region, drawing residents and visitors to Bujairi Terrace, the At-Turaif district, and its growing collection of restaurants and cultural attractions. Because the historic precinct sits a short distance northwest of central Riyadh, planning your transport in advance makes a big difference — especially on busy evenings. This سعودي ليفنج guide walks you through every way to get there and where to park once you arrive.

Where Diriyah is and how long it takes

Diriyah lies roughly 15–25 minutes' drive northwest of central Riyadh, about 15 km from areas such as مركز الملك عبدالله المالي. By private car, taxi, or ride-hailing the journey usually takes around 15–20 minutes, though traffic during weekend evenings can stretch that out.

Is there a metro station?

Not yet. قطار الرياض does not currently reach Diriyah, so there is no metro station serving the precinct directly. For now, the practical options are your own car, a taxi, or a ride-hailing app for the final leg of the trip.

Taxis and ride-hailing

Ride-hailing is the easiest choice if you'd rather not drive. Both Uber and Careem operate throughout الرياض and serve the Diriyah visitor areas, including Bujairi Terrace and At-Turaif.

  • Typical fare: about SAR 25–50 one way from central Riyadh.
  • Journey time: around 15–20 minutes depending on traffic.
  • Drop-off points: Bujairi Terrace and the Bujairi drop-off zone, also signposted near the At-Turaif Visitor Centre.

From the drop-off zone you'll walk through security and the gates toward At-Turaif or the Bujairi dining areas, so wear comfortable shoes.

Self-driving and parking

If you're driving yourself, follow the road signs to Bujairi Parking or Samhan Parking, the two main paid facilities serving the precinct. Standard self-parking tariffs are:

  • SAR 30 for the first 3 hours.
  • SAR 10 for each additional hour after the initial three-hour period.

The Zallal basement car park offers around 1,400 spaces and serves both shopping and dining visitors, integrated with the Bujairi Terrace experience.

Valet parking

A dedicated valet service is available at Diriyah, with a standard published fee of SAR 150 at valet points such as Zallal. Some restaurants in Bujairi Terrace offer complimentary valet when you have a confirmed reservation — a nice perk worth asking about when booking. Guests using the same valet without a reservation can be charged around SAR 195.

Tips for peak times

During موسم الدرعية and on weekend evenings, on-site parking at Bujairi and Samhan can fill up fast. To save time and stress:

  • Arrive before 17:00 if you plan to drive and park.
  • Consider ride-hailing instead of driving on the busiest evenings.
  • Book a restaurant reservation early to unlock complimentary valet where offered.

For the latest tariffs and any seasonal changes to parking or access, confirm details through the official Diriyah channels before you head out.
