Jeddah Airport Delays: Know Your Passenger Rights

Oct 27, 2026•2 min read

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah remains operational, though some flights are experiencing delays and cancellations. Passengers traveling in the coming days are advised to confirm their flight status before heading to the airport.

The quickest way to check whether your flight is on time is through your airline's official app, website, or customer-service desk. Keeping an eye on these channels helps travelers avoid unnecessary waiting and plan alternatives early.

Your rights if a flight is cancelled

If an airline cancels your flight, it must offer you either an alternative flight or a full refund — including any additional fees you paid. Where compensation applies, it is calculated as a percentage of the affected fare, not a fixed amount.

Compensation depends on how much notice you receive. For a cancellation between 60 and 14 days before departure, you are entitled to a refund plus 50% of the unused itinerary value. Between 14 days and 24 hours before departure, that rises to a refund plus 75%. For cancellations less than 24 hours before departure, you may receive a refund plus 150%.

Delays and complaints

If a delay exceeds two hours, you have the right to cancel your booking and receive a full, fee-free refund. Any complaint related to a delay or cancellation must be submitted within 60 days of the incident.

No fixed fee applies to these rights, and current information does not establish any airport-wide delay or cancellation charge, processing time, or validity period. Travelers are encouraged to keep their booking details and receipts on hand to support any refund or compensation request.
