Jeddah Municipality has begun work on expanding a 1,900-meter section of Prince Majid Road in Jeddah, in a move aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving the flow of vehicles across the city.

The project covers the stretch extending from the Old Makkah Road intersection to the Al-Falah Road intersection. The road will be widened to 52 meters, and the completed section will feature four lanes in each direction, for a total of eight lanes.

Why it matters

The expansion is designed to increase the road's capacity, improve traffic flow, and strengthen connections between neighborhoods. It is also expected to make travel easier for residents heading from central and southern Jeddah toward مطار الملك عبدالعزيز الدولي.

For commuters and families living in these parts of the city, a wider, higher-capacity road could mean shorter travel times and smoother daily journeys, particularly during peak hours and when heading to or from the airport.

The available information on the project does not include details on its total cost or an expected completion date. سعودي ليفنج will share further updates as more details become available.
