Saudi Arabia has raised its national tourism ambition, setting a new target of 150 million domestic and international visitors annually by 2030. The revised goal reflects the sector's rapid growth and marks a significant step up from earlier plans.
The move follows the achievement of the Kingdom's previous target of 100 million annual visitors, which was reached ahead of schedule. Building on that momentum, authorities have now set a higher benchmark to be met by the end of the decade.
Under the updated target, the 150 million figure is expected to include roughly 70 million international visitors and around 80 million domestic visitors each year. The balance underlines the importance of both overseas tourism and travel within the Kingdom itself.
Why it matters
For residents and expats, a larger and faster-growing tourism sector often means more jobs, new attractions, expanded hospitality and transport services, and a wider range of events and experiences across major destinations. Cities such as the Kingdom's leading tourism hubs stand to benefit from continued investment and development.
Tourism is a central pillar of رؤية السعودية 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and position the country as a major global destination. Raising the visitor target reinforces that long-term direction and signals confidence in continued growth over the coming years.
