Saudi Arabia has set a new goal of attracting 150 million annual visitors by 2030, raising the ambitions of its fast-growing tourism sector. The updated target splits into 80 million domestic visitors and 70 million international visitors each year.
The move follows a strong 2025, when the Kingdom recorded roughly 123 million inbound and domestic tourists. That figure included approximately 29.3 million inbound tourists from abroad and about 93.3 million domestic tourists traveling within the country.
Tourism spending also reached notable levels. Total spending in 2025 came to around SAR 304 billion, with inbound tourists alone contributing approximately SAR 176.6 billion of that amount.
Why it matters
For residents and expats across the Kingdom, the expanded target signals continued investment in travel, hospitality, and leisure experiences in cities such as the Riyadh and Jeddah regions and beyond. Growth on this scale typically supports new jobs, business opportunities, and a wider range of attractions, events, and services for both local and visiting travelers.
The push reflects the broader direction of رؤية السعودية 2030, which places tourism at the center of economic diversification. Reaching 150 million visitors would mark a significant step up from current numbers, reinforcing the sector's role as a key driver of future growth.
