Saudi Arabia has set a revised target of attracting 150 million visits annually by 2030, a figure that combines both domestic and international travel. The goal underlines the Kingdom's push to position tourism as a central pillar of its economy.

The ambition builds on strong recent numbers. In 2025, Saudi Arabia recorded 122.6 million overnight visitors, reflecting steady growth in arrivals from across the region and beyond.

How the tourist eVisa works

For visitors planning a trip, the tourist eVisa remains the main entry route. It is generally valid for one year from the date of issuance, permits multiple entries, and allows stays of up to three months at a time. The visa cannot be extended; once it expires, travelers must submit a new application.

The published base tourist-visa fee is SAR 300. The final checkout amount also includes mandatory medical insurance and VAT. Applicants apply through the official Saudi tourist eVisa portal by completing the form, uploading their passport information and a photograph, paying electronically, and receiving the approved visa online.

Passports must generally be valid for at least six months at the time of entry. The tourist eVisa does not permit Hajj, study, or employment, though it may allow Umrah outside the Hajj season.

For residents and expats, the growing visitor numbers signal expanding opportunities across hospitality, retail, transport, and events — sectors that increasingly shape daily life in the Kingdom's major cities.
