King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh partially resumed operations on 25 October 2026, following a temporary suspension. Flights are now running from select terminals, though international services remain limited.
Terminal 1 is handling domestic flights, while Terminal 2 serves selected international flights operated by Saudi national carriers. Terminal 3 remains closed until further notice.
To help manage capacity, some flights that normally operate out of Riyadh are temporarily departing from Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim. Travellers affected by this change should plan their journeys accordingly.
What travellers should know
International operations at the airport are still limited, and several foreign airlines continue to suspend or reduce their Riyadh services. This means availability and schedules may differ from normal operations.
Passengers are strongly advised to confirm their booking and departure terminal directly with the operating airline before heading to the airport. Checking flight status in advance can help avoid confusion and delays, particularly as arrangements may change at short notice.
The partial resumption is an important step toward restoring normal travel for residents and visitors in Riyadh, who rely on the airport for both domestic connections and travel abroad. Saudi Living will continue to share updates as operations expand.
