King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh partially resumed operations on 25 October 2026, following a two-week suspension. Flights restarted on a limited basis, with full airport operations yet to be restored.
Under the current arrangement, Terminal 1 is handling domestic flights, while Terminal 2 is dedicated to international flights operated by Saudi national carriers. Passengers should expect reduced schedules until regular operations are fully reinstated.
Saudi carriers resuming service include Saudia and flynas. Among the selected international routes now operating are flights to London, Dubai, and Beijing. Additional destinations and frequencies are expected to be added gradually as operations return to normal.
What passengers should do
Because services remain limited, travellers are advised to contact their airline directly to confirm their booking and verify the latest flight status before heading to the airport. This step can help avoid unnecessary trips and delays during the staged return of operations.
The partial reopening is an important step for residents and travellers across Riyadh who rely on the airport for both domestic connections and international travel. As one of the Kingdom's busiest hubs, the gradual restoration of flights supports business, tourism, and family travel in the region.
