Revised electricity, water, and wastewater tariffs in Saudi Arabia will take effect on January 1, 2027, not during 2026, affecting households and businesses across the Kingdom including Riyadh and Jeddah.

Under current 2026 rates, residential electricity is priced at 18 halalas 000 kWh, and 30 halalas From January 1, 2027, these rates will rise to 21 halalas 000 kWh and 33 halalas 000 kWh.

For the commercial sector, current 2026 rates stand at 22 halalas 000 kWh and 32 halalas Starting January 1, 2027, commercial, private healthcare, and private education consumers will pay 25 halalas 000 kWh and 35 halalas 000 kWh.

New fixed monthly charges

From January 1, 2027, residential fixed monthly electricity charges will be set according to breaker capacity: SAR 70 for 20–99 amps, SAR 80 for 100–199 amps, SAR 90 for 200–299 amps, and SAR 100 for 300 amps or more.

For commercial, industrial, government, private healthcare, and private education subscribers, the fixed monthly charges across the same four capacity bands will be SAR 350, SAR 500, SAR 700, and SAR 900.

The changes give residents and businesses more than a year to plan ahead. Electricity services are handled through the national electricity provider, while water and wastewater services are managed by the National Water Company. No separate app-based government procedure applies to ordinary utility billing.
