King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh partially reopened on 25 October 2026 after a two-week closure, resuming domestic flights and a limited number of international services for travellers in the capital.
Domestic flights are operating from Terminal 1, while Terminal 2 handles selected international services flown by Saudi national carriers, including Saudia and flynas. Some international flights by other carriers, such as Air India and Emirates, have also operated, but many international airlines remain suspended for now.
Terminal 3 remains closed due to damage, which continues to limit the airport's full international capacity. During the disruption, Riyadh Air temporarily moved selected services to Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Al-Qassim, covering routes to Cairo, Dhaka, Jeddah, London Heathrow, Lahore, and Islamabad.
What travellers should know
Because schedules remain partial and subject to change, passengers are strongly advised to confirm their flight time and booking status directly with the operating airline before heading to the airport. Some routes may still depart from alternative airports, and some international services have yet to resume.
The phased reopening is an important step for residents and expats in Riyadh who rely on the airport for family travel, work trips, and connections to the wider region. Checking your airline's latest updates before you travel can help avoid confusion over terminals and departure points while operations gradually return to normal.
