King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh partially reopened on 25 October 2026 after around two weeks during which operations were suspended. Only two of the airport’s five terminals have returned to service, and operations remain limited.

Terminal 1 is handling domestic flights operated by Saudi national carriers, while Terminal 2 is handling international flights operated by Saudi national carriers. Terminal 3 remains closed due to damage, and full airport capacity has not yet resumed.

Because the reopening is partial, travellers should not assume their usual terminal or schedule applies. Passengers are advised to confirm their terminal and flight status directly with their airline before heading to the airport.

Why it matters

King Khalid International Airport is one of the Kingdom’s busiest gateways, serving a large number of residents and expats in Riyadh. A limited reopening means fewer flights and possible changes to terminals and timings during the coming period, so planning ahead is essential.

Until the airport returns to full capacity, allow extra time for your journey, check in early, and monitor your flight details closely. We will share further updates as operations expand.
