A youth camp dedicated to game design and development has concluded in Riyadh, bringing together young participants to explore the basics of building electronic games through hands-on activities. The Next Gen Games Camp was organized through a partnership between King Salman Science Oasis and Savvy Games Group.

The program introduced participants to game-design and game-development fundamentals, guiding them as they developed their own game ideas and electronic-game projects. Along the way, participants practiced teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

The camp was offered across two age tracks: juniors aged 10 to 13 and youth aged 14 to 17. It comprised 20 training hours and ran from 26 to 30 July 2026, daily from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The listed fee was SAR 1,700. No prior game-design experience was required, though parental consent and full attendance were conditions for taking part.

The closing event featured demonstrations of participants' projects and games, followed by recognition of the winners in each of the two camp tracks.

Programs like this give young residents in the Kingdom practical exposure to a fast-growing field, offering an early path into skills that span creativity, technology, and collaboration. For families looking to introduce children and teenagers to game development in a structured, supervised setting, such camps provide a focused introduction without requiring any previous background.
