A STEM and sustainability education program linked to electric motorsport has launched an enhanced online platform, expanding its reach to students across Saudi Arabia. Driving Force Presented by PIF targets young people aged 8 to 18 through school workshops, classroom resources, and online learning modules.
The program first launched globally in April 2025, with Saudi Arabia among the initial focus countries alongside the United States and the United Kingdom. In the Kingdom, the first in-person pilot workshops were held in five schools before a wider rollout, with sessions taking place in Riyadh and Jeddah.
By mid-2026, the program had reached a total of 111,200 young people across more than 1,100 schools in the three countries. In Saudi Arabia, over 4,500 students had benefited from workshops and digital content by August 2026.
What the enhanced platform offers
The upgraded platform, launched in August 2026, is a unified online destination with tailored experiences for three audiences. Students access interactive challenges, quizzes, games, and rewards covering STEM topics, electric racing technology, and sustainable mobility. Parents find content to support their children's interest in STEM and future mobility careers, while educators get ready-to-use lesson plans and classroom activities.
Learning themes include air pollution, sustainable energy, the circular economy, ocean protection, renewable energy, and careers in motorsport and sustainability for older students aged 12 to 18. Content is delivered through live school workshops, teacher resources, and anytime online modules.
The launch content centers on the GEN4 Formula E car, set to debut on track in the 2026/27 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season, linking lessons to the latest electric racing technology. During 2025–2026, Saudi students also engaged with activities around events such as the E1 Jeddah GP, including workshops, school visits, and trackside access. For families in Riyadh and Jeddah, the program offers a free, practical way to introduce children to science, technology, and sustainability.
