Public-school students in several Saudi regions will enjoy an additional holiday on Sunday, October 25, 2026, after regional education administrations approved the extra day off outside the national academic calendar.

The Ministry of Education's official academic calendar does not list this date as a holiday. Instead, individual education administrations are authorized to schedule additional days off, and several chose October 25.

Education administrations in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif named October 25 as the only additional holiday for the academic year. Other administrations across the Kingdom scheduled their extra days on different dates, including November 29, 2026, January 7, 2027, and April 11, 2027.

Why it matters

Because the additional holidays differ from one region to another, families are advised to check the schedule issued by their local education administration rather than relying solely on the national calendar. This ensures parents and students know exactly which days schools will be closed in their area.

No fees are associated with the holiday. For households in Riyadh, Jeddah, and other cities, confirming the correct date ahead of time can help in planning childcare, travel, and family activities.
