King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh resumed partial operations on 25 October 2026, following a temporary suspension of services. Travellers flying to and from the capital are advised to confirm their flight details before heading to the airport.
Under the current arrangement, Terminal 1 is handling domestic flights, while Terminal 2 is dedicated to international flights operated by Saudi national carriers. Full international operations, including services by foreign airlines, had not yet been confirmed at the time of the resumption.
During the disruption, some Riyadh-based flights were temporarily routed through Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim. Passengers should be aware that terminal assignments and departure points may differ from their original bookings.
What travellers should do
Passengers holding confirmed bookings are urged to verify their flight status, assigned terminal, and departure time directly with their airline before travelling. Checking ahead can help avoid delays or confusion at the airport as operations gradually return to normal.
The phased resumption is an important update for residents and visitors in Riyadh who rely on the airport for domestic and international travel. With domestic and Saudi-carrier international services back in operation, most routine journeys can proceed, though travellers on foreign airlines should stay in close contact with their carriers for the latest guidance.
