An additional monthly financial support of SAR 500 has been announced for eligible Saudi citizens, aimed at supporting several groups across the public sector and social welfare system. The measure is tied to upcoming electricity, water, and wastewater tariff changes scheduled for 1 January 2027.
eligible groups include civilian and military employees covered by civil-service salary scales or operational employment programs. Retirees and eligible family members of deceased contributors or retirees covered by the Social Insurance Law are also included, along with households receiving Social Security benefits.
Private-sector Saudi employees are not automatically included under the announced criteria. For Social Security beneficiaries, payments are expected to be processed based on existing beneficiary records, and no separate application process has been indicated for them.
What residents should know
The support remains subject to applicable eligibility rules, verification, and administrative procedures. At this stage, no confirmed application steps, payment start date, validity period, or specific digital-service procedure has been made available in the published information.
For eligible households and individuals, the additional amount is intended to help offset the impact of the planned 2027 adjustments to utility tariffs. Saudi Living will continue to follow developments and share verified updates on eligibility and procedures as they become available.
