The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology launched the third edition of Saudi Game Champions in Riyadh on 6 October 2026, aiming to develop national talent in the fast-growing game development sector. The program is delivered through the Center of Digital Entrepreneurship (CODE) in partnership with the National Technology Development Program (NTDP).

Running over six months, the program is open to developers, designers, entrepreneurs, and others interested in building games. Participants work to turn original ideas into playable game prototypes and potential projects, gaining hands-on experience along the way.

A key part of the program is a three-day Game Jam held in Riyadh, where teams come together to develop prototypes in an intensive, collaborative setting. The format gives participants the chance to test ideas quickly and build working concepts as part of a team.

Why it matters

Saudi Arabia's gaming and esports scene has expanded rapidly in recent years, and initiatives like this one aim to equip local creators with the skills to compete and build careers in the industry. For developers and aspiring entrepreneurs across the Kingdom, the program offers a structured pathway from concept to playable product.

Those interested can apply through the official CODE application form. The announcement did not specify a participation fee, application deadline, detailed eligibility requirements, venue, or timetable.
