A growing number of Saudi youth are weaving fitness and sports into their everyday routines, supported by expanding community programs and digital tools across the Kingdom.

In 2025, more than 650 sports groups were launched through the Sports for All app, bringing together over 22,000 participants. The app, community centers, school and university sports programs, and municipal sports facilities now form the main channels through which residents of all ages can get active.

Official figures show that among Saudi children and adolescents aged 5 to 17, 19% reached the recommended minimum of at least 60 minutes of physical activity daily in 2025. Programs run by the Saudi Sports for All Federation are designed to reach children, adolescents, university students, families, and adults through both community-based and school activities.

Why it matters

The national goal is for 40% of the population to take part in physical activity by 2030, part of a wider push to improve public health and quality of life. Making sports accessible through neighborhood centers and free-to-join groups helps lower the barriers that once kept many people on the sidelines.

For those who prefer private facilities, commercial gym prices vary by operator and branch. In الرياض, reported examples range from around 35 to 80 ريال سعودي for day passes and about 99 to 500 ريال سعودي for monthly memberships. There is currently no verified nationwide fee schedule, mandatory registration process, or unified pricing for ordinary youth fitness participation.

With a mix of free community options and flexible commercial choices, staying active has become easier for Saudi families and young residents alike.
