Al-Asabila Palaces Open to Visitors in Asir Region

Visitors to the Asir Region can now explore Al-Asabila Palaces, a heritage and tourism attraction located in Al-Namas Governorate, about 150 kilometers south of Abha. The site brings together restored historic palaces with cultural experiences that highlight the area's traditional character.

The complex is made up of four palaces — Abs, Mishref, Turban, and Kharif — spread across roughly 5,000 square meters and featuring around 60 rooms. Alongside the restored buildings, the site offers traditional shops, coffee service, and cultural displays that give visitors a closer look at local heritage.

Why it matters to the community

For residents and travelers across the Kingdom, Al-Asabila Palaces add another destination to the growing map of heritage tourism in southern Saudi Arabia. The Asir Region, known for its highland scenery and cooler climate, continues to attract families and visitors looking for cultural experiences away from the larger cities.

The palaces are reported to be open to visitors. However, no confirmed ticket fee, booking step, or official reservation channel was available at the time of publication. Those planning a visit are advised to confirm opening details before traveling.

Saudi Living will share updated information on access and visiting arrangements as it becomes available.
