Al-Dawsari, Abdulhamid Out of Gulf Cup 27 Squad

Saudi Arabia unveiled its 26-player squad for Gulf Cup 27 on 16 September 2026, with two prominent names absent: Salem Al-Dawsari and Saud Abdulhamid, both ruled out through injury.

Al-Dawsari was left out as he continues his recovery following knee-tendon surgery, while Abdulhamid was unavailable due to a thigh-muscle hematoma he sustained while playing for Lens.

The tournament is being hosted in Jeddah from 23 September to 6 October 2026, giving local fans the chance to follow the national team on home soil throughout the competition.

The squad list was published through the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. For the wider community in Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond, the announcement signals the start of preparations for one of the region's most closely watched football events, with matches set to draw large crowds across the two weeks of play.
