Kings League MENA has appointed Saudi sports and media executive Wael Al-Fayez as its managing director, effective September 2, 2026. He becomes the first person to hold the newly created role, taking charge of the competition's growth across the Middle East and North Africa.
In his new position, Al-Fayez will oversee regional commercial strategy, major partnerships, and operational expansion throughout the region. He brings more than 20 years of experience spanning sports, media, entertainment, and technology, and previously served as chief commercial officer of the Saudi Pro League.
The appointment comes as Kings League MENA stages its expanded 10-team Split 1 in Riyadh from September 18 to October 30, 2026. Matches are being played at Kool Arena in Boulevard City, Riyadh, one of the capital's busiest entertainment destinations.
The growth of the competition reflects the wider momentum behind sports and live entertainment in the Kingdom, offering residents and visitors in Riyadh a new format of fast-paced football to follow throughout the season. As the fixtures play out at Boulevard City, the tournament adds to the calendar of events keeping the capital active into the autumn months.
For fans hoping to attend, no confirmed ticket prices, fees, or booking procedures have been announced at this stage.
