Wael Al-Fayez has been appointed managing director of Kings League MENA, taking up the role in August 2026. He becomes the first person to hold the regional managing director position for the competition across the Middle East and North Africa.
Al-Fayez previously served as chief commercial officer of the Saudi Pro League. In his new role, he will oversee commercial strategy, key partnerships, and operational growth throughout the region, guiding the league as it expands its footprint.
The appointment comes ahead of an expanded Split 1, which runs from 18 September to 30 October 2026 in Riyadh. The competition will feature 10 teams, including teams representing Saudi Arabia, with matches held at Cool Arena in Boulevard Riyadh City.
